Florida Marriage Annulment
In Florida and other states, an annulment is a legal ruling and decision that ends a legal marriage by ruling the marriage was never valid. An Annulment voids the marriage and is not considered a divorce. An Annulment is different from a legal divorce. A Divorce still carries a record of the marriage. This separation of terms is consistent with all states. Annulment forms are available on our website on our LEGAL FORMS Page
Many states including Florida provide for a fast divorce if neither spouse has assets they are disputing, no children involved, if no ongoing payments (Alimony) is requested by either spouse and you agree to the finals decision of the court per the filing
The normal dissolution process starts with a Petition using the proper Petition form for the Dissolution of the Marriage. In Florida, this is to be filed with the county circuit court in the same county that both parties live as their primary residence. The dissolution of a marriage can be initiated by either spouse. The petitioner must state the reason for the ending of the marriage. These include Abandonment, irreconcilable differences, abuse or violence or other reason. The petition in Florida serves as a request from the county court. Once a petition has been sent and received, the petitioned spouse has up to 20 days per Florida law to respond in kind. You’ll want to consult with a legal authority on the proper document and forms required.
